Great magazines

The aptly named Good Magazine publishes a list of the 51 Best Magazines Ever, by Grayson Carter. Number one? Esquire, the version published from 1961-1973. I'd go along with that. It was the Tom Wolfe and Gay Talese era, and every issue opened up new ideas. But, most of all, I think, I'd pick it for the wonderful essays by Nora Ephron. Especially, of course, her 'A Few Words About Breasts'. Not online, unfortunately, but reprinted in her book Crazy Salad...

Lots more of my favorites come in near the top, including the early years of WIRED (number 8) and Rolling Stone (number 11), and even Ramparts (number 18)...
